it helps regulate power needs when it hits hard, and it levels stuff out ont the battery or something..

ok so the use of the capacitor is to make your electrical supply smooth.. preventing spikes...

i am having an issue with my car and was just wondering what the issue could be... my cars lights dim and the RPMS loose about 1-200 RPM when bass hits... but only when the car is parked or stopped... it runs stable other than that... so i dunno if i need a better alternator...

would a capacitor also reduce clipping?

a capacitor won't help if you don't already have an adequate charging system. you should look into getting a HO Alternator.

I would take Greeney1888 advice

It sound like you might have lowered your battery to low too many times, and deepcell batteries are beter than a capacitor b/c if you do get a HO alternator you would want a yellow top too, right?
