the new jl audio 12w3v3. It's built on the same program now as the w6v2 and the w7 series. JL rep's have said that the SQ is upo there with teh w6 and the bottom end is better then the w6v2. I was told this today because the enclosure I am looking inot building JL just designed for my truck as a stealth box and this is the sub it comes loaded with. It has a 400 rms power handling which they told me would work very well off of a 500/1. impedence is 4 ohms and the mounting depth is under 8in. just a thought.

hey james do you have a link to pictures and/or info of the w3v3. the only picture if seen lookd cool. the w6v2, and w7 have the best look for a subwoofer IMO. simple clean and nice! now the w3v3 will join them. also, are they making a 13w3v3? im assuming so...

well I was looking inot building the exact same thing and use either a w6v2, or a SI mag, or a arsenal, or a ID max, but this looks like it might be a nice set-up. I am going to my JL dealer tomorrow and have them order it. If I like it I will keep it, if not I will have them build a custom box for another sub. I will let you know what I think, the JL rep said that authorized dealers should have the new sub line within about 2 weeks or so.

are you gonna make a fiberglass enclosure for the sub you choose? that would be pretty p!mp and you make be able to manage a lil more enclosure space.

It's quite easy, yet expensive. Maybe read some of the articles out there (there was a thread on this forum containing links not too long ago) then you could decide what you want to do. I think you may be looking at $100-$200 to do it though..
