Hey i have a mmats pro audio DHCx2200.05 amp and a RE xxx that's dual 2 ohms. The amp is rated for like 2300 watts at .5 ohms and i'm wondering if there is anyway i could wire my sub down to a .5 ohm load. i saw you guys talking about resistors and other possibilities. Any help is appreciated.

what is your amp rated at 1 ohm? i am sure you can power that sub with your amp at 1ohm and still get good power to the subs.

NO, you can not use a resistor, it will just disapate the extra power in the form of heat. You have a option of buying another dual 2ohm and wiring that in paralell to make it 0.5ohms. <<that will be a setup like mines!

The other way to trick the amp to give the power with the higher ohm sub, is to wire a transformer NOT a resistor. But this is not recomended for daily use. So I wont suggest it, its done in competitions.
