Finding the right amp

I'm looking into buying an RE Audio 12" SE, its dual 4 ohm and runs at 600 watts RMS, I was having trouble finding an amp to use with it at a good price and wondered if anyone could help with some suggestions.

well your going to need to get one that does 600 RMS at 2 ohms
i think the last year kickers were stable at 2 ohms, other than that look at orion, or hifonics

This is certainly worth considering.

you think a profile AP 1200 would work?

A lot of people on this forum like to discard Profile as junk, but I think they're full of themselves. Very good budget amps IMO.

However, with your one 600w DVC4 there is a better option than the ap1200. With a 2 ch amp the best you could do would be to wire the coils in series for an 8 ohm load bridged. That would result in about 400w from the ap1200.

With the AP1000M you could wire your coils parallel for 2 ohms and get 500w for a few $ less than the 1200 (at least at millionbuy.com). Not a big difference, but more power for the same or less money is always a plus.
