i put 3 jensen cd players in this thing in a month. they would play fine for aboiut 3 days and then no sound. everything worked, just no sound. i was told i might have a factory amp blowing up the unit. anybody ever heard of this? if so, where is it and how do you get around it. i have 2 alpine 12' subs, all 4 alpine door speakers, 800 watt kenwwod amp and a sony head unit. i want to use the factory wires for the doors and power. but i dont want it blown up again.

hey jeff i had the same problem i couldnt find the facttory amp on my 1994 ford explorer just run your own speaker wire from the door speakers to your cd player its not worth it trying to bypass the factory amp. and did the sound go out on all the speakers from the inside or the subs too. Try this with your cd player to see if it still works take it out and with aanother speaker connect it to your speaker inputs and see if that one speaker plays anything.
