The prices are tempting.. got me picking up 2 RESX15s. I really wonder how much it costs the company to make those subs anyway. Local shop down here almost carried them but while they were at the sema show they asked about the RE subs. Company said they were 10% over-rated and cost like 80-100 to build each sub depending on the size. Course they were just trying to make them sound bad so I'd hand them over a lot of money for there Diamond subs. Can't wait to prove to them how good these subs really are :D.

speaking of amps.. i tried posting a new thread to ask this twice but on both accounts it seemed not to work. idk what the deal is. but anyway im still trying to decide what to get to power the sx15s.. was thinking strapping 2 kx1200.1s or RE12.1s .. or possibly getting 1 kx2500.1.. only diff with that is its 2500rms @ 2 ohm so i'd have to wire them in series(?). idk.. open for any amp choices .. willing to spend about $1000.00 shipped

I think RE uses treated foam surrounds. Whether or not foam adds to the SQ is debatable, but one thing is for sure, it will eventually dry rot, where rubber and poly will not.

I know foam will dry out thats why i was hoping they were rubber damn it :-(. You think if they are foam I can get them to put a rubber one on mine if I ask?

good foam does not dry out. plus, if you've ever seen this stuff, it's like a rubbery foam. why would it matter anyways? if rubber was better for their subs, i bet they'd use rubber!

Does any one know if I can pay with something else besides a credit card, like money order or something? I have never ordered anything from re. I really want to try out a 12" sx.

Is this group buy still going? I'm trying to debate between the SE for $147 or get alpine type R. Still trying to get money together for this; I'll probably go in on this if at all on the Jan 15th if other people are still trying to decide as well. How does the group buy work bytheway?
