Hi, I'm upgrading my factory sound system or lack their of in my truck. I've been to many dealers and been offered many different subs. Some say go with Fosgate, while others say the use junk lately, not like in the 80's or 90's when they were the bad boys. But some say their "Stage/Power" Series is still the way to go. Some say Memphis is good, just trying to build up their name. I have found an old Fosgate Punch 75 amp that I think will suit me well. Now I just need some input before I make my purchase on the sub. HELP!!!! Any input will be appreciated. Thanks, Tami

i say forget memphis. and if u go with a stage/power sub, make sure your amp is enough to power it.

Thanks, Josh. Would you go with the stage/power, or is there something better out there for about the same $$$$$$$$?? Thanks

Probably the sound quality would be the most important of the two for me. Thanks

fosgates aren't good sq. right now re audio is the sub to buy. u should get an sx series sub.$220 for the 12", $240 for the 15" and $265 for the 18". it has good sq and gets very loud.

u need to post what car/space u have available & what size of subs u are thinking about .

If its mainly SQ then i'd go with some Infinity perfects , Diamond audio D3 or Image Dynamics IQ subs ....

The shop I was at was talking about making a box for one sub that would go in the area under my armrest in my "03 dodge quad cab truck with the box extending to the back seat for the "air needed". I was looking at getting a 12-15 inch sub. They are telling me that it's difficult to put two 10's (although it has /can be done) in the wells in the back under the bench seating. They said that they can make one sub in the front sound better than the two in the back under the seats.

They make prefab boxes for that truck, they are trying to get you to spend more money.

What would that be like? Where would it be placed? If I go with the Rockfore Fosgate T212D2 Power Stage Series, how much vented airspace do I need to operate that sub?

Thanks for your help guys, I really like some pics that I saw where the box is under the armrest in the front seat with the sub facing forward towards the engine. I just liked that look. Let me know.... Tami
