there's nothing wrong with e-bay if you watch the seller's feedback. Make sure they have a score of 95% EXTREME LOWEST and up. Also check for any recent negative feedback. Double check on shipping costs too.

As far as getting a system for $500, i'll leave that up to Rovin. He's the champ when it comes to putting together budget systems.

btw, was the $500 just for a sub(s) or amp? Or sub, amp, deck, speakers, wiring, and box?

save up until you have more than 400 or else youll buy something now, not be happy, and then have to save up from 0 for something you like.

wiring - knukoncepts 4ga - around $40
box - build one $25
subs - Alpine Type R, Resonant Engineering SE
amp - Kicker KX600.1

if you can fit a 15" in a ported box... will be VERY loud. that should all be around $500, if not less... you can get the RE SE 15" for $167 on Dec. 5th

that would get insanely loud. That's an excellent price, considering that it was only used like 4 minutes or something

If you mean the infinity 1242W, it may not be a bad idea. I was actually just looking at these, and you can buy them at your local CC right now buy 1 get 1 free:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=119551&c=1&cm_re=main%20marq uee-_-Buy%201%20Infinity%20subwoofer%20get%201%20free-_-Infinity%2012

For under $120, your getting two decent 12" subs together 600 RMS. Go get a dual encl. for $40, and maybe a audiobahn or hifonics amp for under $175.

Speakers: $120 for 1242W @ your local Circuit City
Enclosure: $40 (I get mine at pawn shops for $20-40)
Amp: $138 AUDIOBAHN A8002T @ eBay
- choose 2 ch amp, for bridging @ 4ohm

$120 + 40 + 138 = $298

I second using knukonceptz wires from eBay... you can surely get these wires and some other things you may want to add to your system for the other $200.

The buy on the Type-X and hifonics is not a bad idea either. BTW, I make some of the best budget systems as well. I actually specialize in them, since I started out myself trying many of my own.

--------------------------------------------
I got a few things priced to sell:

Amplifiers:
JL Audio e4300 - $230 NIB (NEW in Box)
JL Audio e1400D - $250 NIB (NEW in Box)
Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2 w/LPL44 bass knob - $150 (Like New cond.)

In-Dash CD Player:
Alpine CDA-9807 - $125 (Good Cond. no rem)

Will eBay these items soon as I take pics. Interested?
