Anyone have optimum ported box specs for 2 type R 12s.

external dimensions ------------- 18" x 13.5" x 16.5

gross internal volume ----------- 1.7 cu ft

vented area (dimensions) ------ 12" x 1.25"

vent length -------------------------- 22.75"

vent displacement ---------------- .305 cu ft

net internal volume (Vb) -------- 1.3 cu ft

F3,ripple,Fb ----------------------- 33hz, 2.5db, 36hz

based upon 3/4 baffle thickness, with opening cut approximately to gasket inner diameter.

So with 2 subs, are you best to just double the width, then split it into separate chambers? Or keep it open?

They'll be running off one amp, so they should be getting equal wattage and everything. I would split the two off unless there's something to gain by keeping it open....

those are the specs for one sub so if you have two then build a box with separate chambers with each chamber having those specs.
