My musical preferences are 60% hard rock/metal and 40% rap. I like it to be a tight accurate bass with awesome SQ but also be able to hit the low notes and get LOUD. My choices are a Sealed with 1.5cubic feet per chamber or a Ported that is 5^3feet tuned to 30Hz. The subs are RE12's with 225rms to each. |

Post Number: 1219 Registered: May-05 | i used to be of the "sealed" persuasion because i like accurate bass with relativelty high output. jonathan expounded on the concept of ported with great sq. i researched it further, and have personally determined that i generally prefer ported over sealed (depending on the driver). be certain however to have a qualified installer and/or accurate dimensions for a ported box. sealed is pretty much cut and dry. food: http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_5_2/cmilleressayporting.html |
