Well after getting my box home I noticed that one of the two port tubes (which are made of thin cardboard) is only half there, it looks like it has been ripped! Will this shortened tube affect the sound of the box or can i just leave it without any bad effects? PLEASE help!!
a shortened tube will definately effect sound, it gives a lower tuning frequency which could be bad cuz if the tuning of your box is lower than that of the Fs of the subwoofer, it will distort and damage the subwoofer - causing it to over excurse which can tear the spider, tinsel leads, and a whole other mess of problems..
in short, it can be bad - try puttin ur sub in and if it gives a high pitched sound at lower frequencies, its tuned too low
