i need to find me a nice pair of 12" subs to go with my amp... but i am on a really really tight budget... any suggestions

AMP Specs:
980W peak power, bridged
560W RMS (continuous) x 1
280W RMS (continuous) x 2 @ 2 ohms
220W RMS (continuous) x 2 @ 4 ohms

i am looking at geting subs with 4 ohm load, not run parallel.

i hooked up a lightning audio storm series set. 700Watts, 150RMS they hit hella hard... but after about 2 months i blew the voice coils out.

why not get a single RE RE12. $69 before shipping. Save up your money to get another one later on.

cool... thanks,helps me out a bunch... now for the next question... this site mark pointed me to has an earthquake tremor12 for 60$.the specs it does have make no sense to me....
heres the listed specs

* Fs = 27Hz
* Qms = 5.396
* Qes = 0.642
* Qts = 0.574
* VAS = 3.4Ft 92 liters
* Xmax = 0.5"
* 87dB 1W/1M
* Revc = 6.5
* Levc = 5.9mH @ (1 kHz).
* Single Voice coil/8ohms

also... running at 8ohms.... what does this mean to me since i am running on a low end amp

Yes, i have bought stuff from there. Shipping usually takes about a week, depending on what day you order your stuff.

Go to walmart.com look up elf-12 it's a power acoustic spl. I know that they are raited as bad but they do sound good. You can get them shipped for about $110. They are dvc but you can run them at 1, 2 or 4 ohm.

yea... did the walmart thing... thaats why i need new subs.... i am just looking for something that hits hard... i ended up buying a rockford sub from a guy... it still hits like crap... i an getting curious as to weather i am having some issues with other components... but i am moving my subs from a van (open space) to a honda accord (trunk, closed space) so i am wondering is its just me being paranoid...

This gives us a very limited amount of subs to choose from. Your best bet would be to go with an alpine type R or 2 infinity refs
