Wihat amp will power 2 aline type-r's

i just bought 2 alpine type r's running at 500 watts rms each and i wanna no what would be a good amp to power them.

depends if u got 2 ohm or 4 ohm
if u got the 4 ohm u can drop them down to 1 ohm if so get this

if u got them 2 ohm u can drop only to 2 ohm

they say hifonics is a little over rated so they should do u good also u can look into mb quart and such but they start at like 290$

will the hifonics get the job done, ive never heard of that brand and im wondering if anyone has a hifonics and if it works good

If your on a budget hifonics is good and there not super over rated like Pyramid, Power Acoustic, and Bazooka

If you want cheap power, then Hifonics is okay. They are not the same company they were 10-12 years ago.

What is your budget?

I think you can get the Hifonics BX1500D for well below $300 on eBay. According to some posts here regarding bench tests, it does about 1000w RMS.

For a little more cash, you could move up a notch and get the Orion 1200D or the Kicker KX1200.1 among others.

would it be worth it to spend 100 more dollars on the orion 1200d, instead of buying the hifonice BX1500D

Yes, I think it is well worth it.

You do have DVC 4 ohm subs, correct? That's an important factor for these amps because they require a 1 ohm load to get the best output.

ya i have the DVC 4 ohm subs and do u guys think i would need a capacitor or alternator for this setup?

It depends. You could wait until you have it installed and see if your alt. will keep up. That Orion 1200D has the potential to draw more than 120 amperes when you crank it up. Do you know what size your stock alt. is?

Caps can help, but they will not solve voltage problems if your alt. is too small.

im not sure what my stock alternator is, but i have a alpine mrd-m605 right now powering a type-r and at full volume my lights dont really dim at all
