I have 2 perfect12.1dvc4ohm subs my amp puts out 275x2 @ 2 ohms or 551x4 @ 4 oms would it be better to run 1 per chanel at 270 per or would it be better to run both on the 1 @ 4 ohms? would my amp be more efficient, run cooler etc. at 4 ohm load thanks.

well, typically, higher ohm loads run cooler, have better damping and SQ, but are running less power?.. 275 X 2 and 551 X 1 pretty much is the same thing?.. 550 on one channel would give each sub.. 275 each.. =P.. one is just STEREO signal and the other is mono for both subs..

it'd make a difference if your amp was stable to a 2 ohm load on the same number of channels, and you were deciding whether to run lower or higher ohm load?

if that didn't come across right, hopefully someone else's comment will help..
