Hi, I am new to the car audio scene and I basically rushed into buying a package deal (Impulsive buyer) before reading up on forums such as this . The package I bought consists of:

ALPINE CDE9845 (DECK)

45W x 4
Bass Engine
1 PreOut
CD-R/RW Playback
Mp3/WMA Playback Display
Bass Center Freq Control

ALPINE MRPT220 (AMP)

70W X 2 AT 2 OHMS
140W bridged at 4 ohms
GOLD PLATED TERMINALS
SPEAKER LEVEL INPUT
BASS BOOST

ALPINE SWS10220D (SUB)

DUAL 2-OHM IMPEDANCE
PEAK POWER 900 WATTS
FREQ. RESPONSE 30-1000 Hz
POWER RANGE 50-300 WATTS
RMS (150 WATTS PER COIL)

My problem is that the bass would cut out but i checked the wirings and the ground and it all seemed fine. So now im thinking that the amp is at fault but i dont know if its too weak to push my sub or if its defective. Any suggestions would be nice thanks!

Im no expert but i guess i'll toss in my 2 cents..If you wire the voice ciols together + to - & do it in series i wouldnt see why the amp would not be enough, but at the same time i dont think its really pushing the sub to its capabilities either. O & btw a cross over would really help, i know the amp may have one built in, but do urself a favor & get a real one. I was very suprised when I hooked up a real xover vs. one built into the amp.
