The net sealed volume for a JL 12W6v2 is 1.25 cu feet. JL Audio has the recommended external dimensions of 18w x 14h x 12.75d.
Now I know the box shouldn't be a perfect square, but other than that, will the shape have an impact. Or are the dimensions provided by JL provided only so those who can't do the math on their own won't have to?
I'm asking because I'm considering two subs, and in order to fit two in my car...it will take some creativity which will not allow for the recommended shape.
if you are askign can the subwoofer box be any other dimensions..yes as long as its in 1.25cu ft. each sub it doenst matter whats the dimensions of the enlclsoure. And yea most likely those numbers are there for people who dont feel like doing there own math or dont know how to

Cool, that's what I thought, but was thrown off by the provided measurements. Thanks.
