I also have a question about optimal amp settings i have it on LP for the crossover i turned the Input lvl up all the way bass boost up all the way bass frequency on 0 low pass is about 25% of the way up and high pass doesnt do anything so that doesnt matter if i turn up the Low pass frequency it gets real distorted it makes the subwoofer sound funny not scratchy but sounds funny and i dunno if thats good or what but it sure dont sound good should i keep my input lvl up high and low pass low or what i want as much bass as i can get out of it

I am sorry, but it is the amp that is your problem. Boss makes some of the worst amps. If you can afford it look for something else. How long have you had that amp BTW?

for your lowpass, you need to decide where you want it crossed over at. 80hz is good general frequency for subs. Do not put your gain and bass boost all the way up. Your gonna introduce distortion/clipping that way and end up ruining your subs.
