14.4 volts question

I see that amps powered at 14.4 volts produce alot more power, I was wondering, can every amp be powered at 14.4? and how do you power them to 14.4 volts?

Alternators idle at approximately 12.5v and when driving (RPM over idle) your alternator will run around 14.4v. Those just general voltages for idle and running.

No, alternators put out 14.4 volts or somewhere close at all times unless under an extream load. If your alternator is only putting out 12.5 volts the converter regulator, or the brushes are going out.

Damn but only some amps run better with 14.4v, not all of them.

well if they are unregulated the more volts = the more power and less volts = less power but if they are regulated then they put out the same amount of power at 11volts or at 15 volts.
