I'm a little confused about preamp outputs. When you connect an amp to a preamp output, does the bass/treble levels on the head unit affect the signal going out of the preamp outputs? For example, if I change the bass does that affect the bass level being sent to the amp for the subs? I'd appreciate it someone could clarify this for me. Thanks

Yes, the tone settings on the headunit affect the signal going to the amplifier.

It depends on the deck. High-end decks usually have an equilzer/crossover or both for the subwoofer channels, or preamp channels. Then they have a level adjuster so you can adjust the amp level to the specific type of music.

so would it be best to turn everything to 0 on the amp and just adjust it by the HU?
