I am intersted in purchasing 2 12" MTX subs.. my question is which of the MTX subs should i purchase.. which one is the best quality and what model is it

how much money u got? what is ur preference SQ or SPL? how much room in your car u got? best is the MTX 9500 probably but it depends.

I have about 350-400

i like SQ

and i have a ton of room.. i own a SUV.. so it shouldnt be a problem

i can spend up to 350-400 for subs alone.. and then about 250 for an amp..

Check out eclipse they do both pretty well, and then i havent heard them personally but ascendant audio atlas series, a lot of people seem to like them pretty well, but as for top 5 in each thats personal preference, you would get many different answers on that one.

for that price you could prob find an IDmax on ebay if your lucky that is one of the best sounding subs on the market, also look into Eclipse TI,Ascendant audio,(avalanche or Atlas-Avalanche being better of the two) REX.X.X is a tad more expensive but worth it.

Well the MTX thunder 8000s arent made anymore so you can find them pretty cheap but as for the rest they are pretty expensive, suggested retail on an 8500 12 is $450 but of course you can find them quite a bit cheaper if you shop around. Here is a site where you can find an 8000 12 for like $170 i think

Well its not that they are bad subs but there is just better for the money.

you can buy the mtx 8000 10s for 60 bucks shipped from mtx website...in the for sale items i have one in a ported box 1.00 cf at 37 hz and it hit 130 db just throwin it in the trunk the sub is very cotrolled in that box the sound is only slightly colored.
