im gonna install a 130 amp alternator this weekend .. to my stock alternator there ar 2 wires.. 1 to the solenoid the other to my harness im guessing .. when i upgrade my wires and do i keep the one comming from the harness and just run a new 4 g wire to the solenoid? also i dont need fuses or anything like that ? just a straight wire to the alt
yeah just wire the alternator straight, no fusing. you can add a thermal circuit breaker after the battery on the positive lead if you like. the heavy cable should be on the line to the battery, as that's the one carrying the high current.
