I just purchased a 1998 Ford Taurus SE sedan and am not really impressed with the stereo. I've been told that if it a MACH system, I'm basically screwed for upgrading, since the stereo is actually located in the trunk and it would be very inconvenient to replace it. However, if it's not a MACH system, I can change to my heart's content and just have to get a replacement Environmental Control panel with a DIN slot.
Can anyone tell me any way to tell for sure if I have a MACH system or not? Any links to websites showing locations of installations? Thanks.
