I just got my amp listed above. Got it for $190 Brand New In Box. Please hold the aplause people. Anyway, I want to get a pair of CDT CL-61. I no the amp is rate at 75 x 2 at 12 V 4ohms. The components are rated at 90 rms. I was reading a test of the pc 2300.2 and it said that the amp was producing 90 rms at 12V per chanell. This would put me over 100 RMS at my cars 13.7/13.9 voltage. I say all of that to ask: Could I tear up my pretty little new speakers if I am not careful? And how do I make sure I am not pushing to much power when I adjust the Gain?

what did your amps birth certificate say it put out powerwise? Ill say even if it puts out say 110 watts you will be ok. when you set the gains the speakers will distort long before they blow. you should be fine. also...if the comps are rated at 90, thats 90 per speaker(tweeter 90, mid 90) and the x-over will take some wattage away.

Congradulations. The PPI PC2300.2 produces very clean rms power, so your components should be fine. In fact almost all well designed speakers WILL handle more power than rated without problem.
As you know, it is distortion/clipping that causes major issues.
As long as you watch the "bass boost" control and set the gain correctly, there shouldn't be any problem.

OK Isaac heres the deal... My ebay seller screwed up and I am getting 2 PC2200.2 for the $190 dollars. This being the case I figured I will have one of the amps running the left channell and one running the right. Will this be OK to run an amp for each channel?

You know what, you got a great deal then, almost a steal! 2200.2 is identical to 2300.2 in spec and quality. The only difference is power, 50w x 2 instead of 75w x2. Since you're getting 2, bridge each amp (200w rms @4ohms) and you have yourself one of the best setup possible for under $200. If you were to duplicate using other brands, you'd have to spend over $700.

Sound good!!! I was thinking things worked out nicely. Well I could not be happier. What would be some nice components similar to cdt-61 that will handle the power. Give me a coulpe of options in different price ranges.

For starter, I can think of Diamond Audio M661. It's suppose to be 170w rms.
Polk Momo M6, 150w rms (can handle more, I have one).
MB Quart PCE-216, 130w rms.
Focal 165V3E, 160w rms.
They range in price $180 - $300.

I HATE EBAY JERKS!!! The person that sole me the PC2300.2 was out of stock so he offered me 2 PC2200.2. I accepted. He now refuses to answer my emails and refunded my money. I don't want my money back I want the amp I ordered, or secondly the replacement amps in their plce I was offered. The bum got my hopes up on a good deal, then smashed my dreams of good sound right before my eyes. (weeping quietly to self)

Whoa, you mean you haven't received the 2 2200.2 amps?
The Art series amps are pretty rare to find nowdays. Almost no one has the manuals for them either.

Just curious, what was his feedback rating? Most of the ones I order from are 99% to 100%. Anything less than that I stay away from.

His feedback score is 99.1% with no neutral or negatives in the past year. Hey Isaac what is the difference between the PPI white A300 and the white A300.2?

There is not much difference in spec wise except 300.2 has better and improved power supply. I've separate .2 power supply on sale for 300 amps.

i asume the amps are 75rms x 2 at 4ohm & 12V. What type of crossover do they have ( db/octave and variable of fixed at what frequency)? What is a good price to pay for a used one?

The PPI Art series do not come with any control except gain. It is what you call a "full" range amp. Don't let that fool you, you would be surprised how clear the sounds are. In an age where every amp comes with bass boost, crossover, phase shift and many others, sometimes a well designed amp with simple control could actually out perform.
The way I see it, Orion G4 amp is very similar to Art series, except it comes with the "extras" like LF/HP/BP, Phase shift, buffered pass thru rca, master/slave/copy, mono/stereo for bridging, .05 ohms stable, and unregulated power supply.
