Im thinking about running a H.O. box with a sub. I will be using a 500/1 possibly for this setup. Which sub should i put in this box??? How whould it sound?? it says on the website that its a patented ported design and its very loud and maintains good sq/spl.?

They are designed to work the Jl sub to the best of its ability. IMO if your going to use a prefab box for a JL sub, thats the way to go.

Hey Jeremy i was gonna run a 1000/1 and my 2 13w6v2's but i may hold off until i get a bigger car or HO alternator. For the meantime. I will be running a Eclipse cd8454 for the hu and a 500/1 for a sub or subs and a ppi art 300.2 for my componants in the front. I plan on taking the rearspeakersout for better bass response thru that. Now that we have the foundation...what JL sub whould sound the best in a HO box. It can be either 2 12w3v2's in the H.O. box or a 12W6v2 or a 10w7??? If i missed any you let me know but which whould sound the best with that 500/1? im looking for a sq and alot of spl. I listen to mostly rap and some rock..maybe NIN and electronica..give me some thoughts..thanks

H.O Box and sub combination is very nice, i wouldn't change the sub out for another brand or model though.

i'd go with the 10W7 or if you don't like the way W7's sound (some people don't) then go with the 12W6v2. just because i think they are better subs then the W3's
but for SPL i've heard the W6's aren't very good and obviously the 2 12W3v2's will have more piston area.

MO - you posted after i posted my first message

Go with the 12 w6v2. Its a great sub, and will be right in route with the additions you want later. If you start getting into the W7 line I would go with the 12 and use your 500/1 on it for now. With the HO box the 500/1 will be plenty.

Do you think a 12w7 whould work with a 500/1 jl amp in a H.O. Box by JL that it comes in. Or should i stick with the 10w7. The 500/1 is underated.

if you plan on upgrading the 500/1 to a 1000/1 or simular amp later with the 12W7, you should be fine starting off with a 500/1

Get 2 10W7's run off a JL 1000/1 and it will hit very hard and give you more then you expect. Just make sure you have the right box for it and get a good install.
