yes it is good for the 12 but if you were gonnna get 2 and underpower them why dont you just get the 13w7? perfect match with that amp and willl get very loud and sound great at the same time
cheaper, you would need two amps to give those guys enough power or a more powerful amp. those are dual-3 ohm subs and they handle 750 watts (the 12s). The 13 handles 1000.
ok well if you were to get 12's you would need about 1500-2000 watts or if you were to get 1-13 the jl 1000/1 would work perfectly. it will be much cheaper depending on the amps you go with but if you are considering the 1000/1 then I would go with 2 of them for the 12w7 and one of them with the 13. either way the 13 with a 1000/1 will be enough bass for you unless you are competing. what I would do is 2-13w6v2's with a 1000/1. but thats me
i just finished my install of a JL13W7 and 2 500/1's (instead of a 1000/1 which is the most typical setup) and its more then enough bass. it will almost cost you double the price of a 13 and 1000/1 to get 2 12's and 2 1000/1 (depends on where you get them from)
yes they would be louder! and the SQ is all opinions. they both have great sq some people like the w6v2's better then the w7's http://www.caraudiomag.com/testreports/0403cae_jlaudio/ read that.
personally I like the W6v2's better because they are cheaper and almost as good as the W7's. the money is a better compromise in my book. Plus the 12" W6v2's handle 400 watts so 1 JL 1000/1 could power two of those perfectly.
The 13W6v2s would have an SPL advantage when comparing two of them to 1 13W7, it's a sheer surface area advantage by a large margin, and the 13W7s extra excursion can't outdo that much displacement. In ported enclosures you have to especially consider surface area as you'll usually never reach full linear excursion in a ported enclosure unless you're pushing much, much more than recommended power or running a sub under the tuned frequency. Like said above, SQ is subjective and both are great, I prefer the W6v2 over the W7 for sound quality purposes as W7s can be a little overextended and boomy on certain material. Just a preference, not a recommendation, it's up to your ears.
12w7's do just fine with 500/1's check out JL's site and you'll see what I mean. So if you go with 2 12w7's get 2 500/1's you don't have to have 2 1000/1's.
get like a 20-50 farad cap, allumapro's are nice. or get a BatCap, thoes are nice as well. but if your getting a cap to help with electrical problems, they won't replace an alternator
