What kind of bix produces HIGHEST SPL?

WHat kind of box produces the highest spl level? should it be ported, not, bandpass, snail shell, what? i have no clue, help me out.

nothing for normal listening. a box tuned(ported) to around 60 to 70 hertz would give you that. or for normal listening a snailshell, a folded horn or just a really nice vented box

the best spl box would be a ported box slightly below your cars peak hrz

how do you know what your cars peak hrz is?! aaahhhhhhhhhhh!!! i feel so lost! lol

dont worry about it man, i dont even know how to figure that, its not really important unless you are all out spl comps. have you ever looked inside of a ported box?

you can go to a local car audio shop and ask them to tell you..i think most are between 50 and 60 hrz ssay yours is 58...then tune your box to like 54

A 6th order bandpass box tuned to the resonant frequency of the cabin would do the trick. Depends on application what would be the absolute highest. Cody, you determine the resonant frequency by playing a subwoofer with a known response in the car and note the changes that are made, the peak SPL will be your resonant frequency.

those boxes are very hard to build. ive seen them off of a website glass gave along time ago, but i dont remember, something diysubwoofers somethin somethin.......

Most people use CAD design to design a 6th order, it is hard to design and very hard to build as well. One goof and you risk blowing the cones out of the subs. I'd personally recommend having it built by a professional.
