i have a kicker kx600.1 amp(birthsheet said 740w) pushing 1 new 12'' L7 in a 1 cu-ft sealed box. what should i set my gain, cross-over and bass boost at? it nevers gets distorted wen i turn the gain up(while hu vol. is at 3/4). so is "all the way up" ok for gain? and what exactly is cross-over? and how should i set it? thanks im new to car audio. thanks

no you should never have your gain up past half way. if you have it up past half, it sends DC voltage to your subs and causes clipping.

bass boost is an increased bass signal for greater low-frequency sound, and a crossover is a device that divides the ranges of frequencies, it should be set on low for bass, and higher for playing music.
