I have heard both. I have heard both from the same amp JL 1000/1 in their factory built enclosures and the 9500 was no comparison to the w7. companies can claim what they want but I have tested both of them and also heard the same results from others. Is there a big price difference between the two yes there is but it makes the difference in this case.

well the problem there is the enclosure, ive heard a mtx9500 in the sledgehammer box and it sucks! i heard a p3 out perform it in a ported custom box. so if you take them out of the box they will sound comparable to the w7

the 750 is the rms, but is underrated. this is an awesome subwoofer.

it can take alot more..and this sub will easily give a w7 a run for its money

if both subs were in snailshell enclosures, the 9500 will blow the w7 away and by a good margin. that is, if both subs were properly powered.

Notice that MTX compares it's 10" subwoofer to the 10W7. JL's W7 line increases subwoofer performance with size, while the MTX does not. The 10" MTX and the 10W7 perform similarly, but the 12W7 and 13W7 outperform the 9500. The JL also retains higher linearity than the MTX does, has higher surface area, and has more linear excursion than MTX once you get into the 12 and 13W7. It all translates into better SQ and SPL out of the driver.

hit the nail on the head there.....thats exactly right....only the 10's are comparable...after that, the MTX might want to bring one of his buddy's..
