ISO LOAD ??? (jonathan or glass or anyone )

I have 2 12" kicker comp vr with 300 watts rms running to each. I have decided they are louder than I want and my sealed box is way to big to get a good .707 qtc (nearly 8 cu/ft). I had the great idea of clamshelling them and having a box that is only 2 cu/ft with the same qtc and a cut in volume. Does this sound like a good idea? Will the comp vr work wired in reverse without burning it up? Will SQ be the same with just less SPL? HELP???

Pretty much any subwoofer can work in an Isobaric application, and yes, your subs will be fine. SQ will be similar and SPL will drop by around 3db since you're losing driver displacement.
