do disc changers send data to the head unit, or do they send the sound they read to the unit. Basically what i mean is do i need a head unit that plays mp3s if i have a cd changer that plays mp3s, or what?
to play MP3 CDs in a CD Changer, your changer has to be able to decode the MP3s. If you want to play an MP3 CD in the head unit, then the head unit has to decode the MP3 compression.

have just installed a sony headunit, i brought it in the states. i am in new zealand and i haev found it does not have the same frequencies. has anyone encoutered these problems before? any help would be great.
