Just got 2 sony xplode 12" subs and I was wondering if anyone recommends a amp to hook it up with. Says the subs push out around 800 watts at its peak. not sure if thats true. Can anyone throw out some recommendations?? Thanks.

Hey brain, i had very similar subs (the only difference is that they were 1200W max) all i did which im sure every one in here is going to think is a bad idea is i purchased one of those crap sony x-plode amps 1200W max ones. i then placed the speakers in an enclosed box and it sounded so good that i was afriad that my car was going to fall apart. i didnt even need a capacitor however i would suggest getting one if your going to have any other speakers connected. but im telling you its a very good idea the amp puts out like 250rms per channel.

lol a word of he wise just because a amp says 1200w doesn't mean it puts out that much. that value is how many watts the amp fails at and blows up. u want to look for the RMS value
