probably the CDA 7990 from alpine - F#1 status
think it retails for 4g glasswolf owns one so hed know

one heck of a head unit , isn't it? it feels good reading the specs off the monitor imagine how awesome it is to listen to it???? Glasswolf is a fortunate man!

yeah I'd say the CDA-7990 (mine) or the ICA-901.
depends on what you want the unit for. the 901 handles DVD etc.. so it's more rounded for multimedia. the 7990 is a purist unit for audio only.

It retails for 3 grand. You can find tehm on-line for about $1700-1800. It's a great head unit though but really it's wasted money unless you have the rest of the system to match it's capabilities. Alpine's digital processors with optical connections are a great match. Beyond those I'd probably go ti balanced high voltage signal paths like Zapco's SymbiLink or PPI and Orion's older DIN cable system.
Then use good amps and pretty much the best SQ speakers you can find for the system.
Not really a head unit made for burping systems at SPL events. You could do that using a Mister Microphone and get just about teh same results.

damn... i bet it sounds crazy sweet to the ears. i wish i could hear a setup with one of those.

oops typo I meant to say the IVA-901.
it's alpine's new multi-purpose head unit. retails for about 2400 bucks.
