Building a box

Im building a box for a 12" volfenhag zx4712. Ill be using 3/4" MDF. What dimensions and options(Internal air space, ported, etc.) would be best for the sub for best sound quality?

i dont know the specs on that sub but here are some specs from the sql box i made it came out good.
12x22-end piece
12x22.75-other end piece
33x12-front piece with 11.15 diam. cut out for sub
36x12-back piece
36x23.5-top
36x23.5-bottom
23x12-inside port piece-h
12x12-inside port piece-g

Is certain internal air space important?

can you rephrase that question please. is your name from fear factory? god i love that song and the whole album...obsolete. but that box will give 2.5 internal space i believe. if that is a pretty descent sub then it perform good in this box, so i wouldnt worry too much about it

I was wondering if certain subs need a certain internal air space/box volume to sound good. Its a 12" 1000watt. And yes, it is from Fear Factory. One of my favorites:P

It depends on the sub. Most companies will tell you what volume to put the sub in in cubic feet. That's (L x W x H) / 1728. Ported enclosures will need more space than sealed enclosures.
