I would like to know not by opinion but by fact which amp would be best suited for the w7. my friend will be buying 1 at a time installing in an enclosed enclosure in his 94 silverado pickup truck. what would you recommend the cubic feet be of the box and what recommended amp not by chioce but by pure quality. something reasonable though not a custom amp etc...

my friend will be gettin one at a time but wants to purchase the amp and 1 w7 12 for the truck and he doesnt want the back seat taken up.

build a custom box for under your rear seat, if nessecary raise up in like 3in or something, as for the amp, i'd say the JL 500/1 sound work wonders on that sub...

JL 1000/1 stable at 1,2 or 4 ohms and gives out almost 1200+ watts which is prefect for the w7

12 W7 only needs the 500/1 as glass and the guy who solds his stuff on here pointed out to me....

it puts out like 733/1 or something like that
i think the 1000 is to much power for 1 12

just follow jeffs advice basically

For the 12W7 he can use the JL 500/1 or the 1000/1. I sugest a 500/1 for each of them. The 1000/1 is a little on the big side.

If he is really wanting to save space he can go with a sealed box at 1.25 cubes, per sub, and then add a little over a 1 LB of polly fill. . If he doesn't mind going a little bigger I would go 1.5 per sub and then add some polly fill if you think it should hit a little harder. One more thing, I figured the box thinking he would use the 500/1. If he goes with the 1000/1 I would stay closer to 1.25 per sub.

yeah 500/1 would be perfect for one, but if he's getting another w7 later on FOR SURE... investing the money in a 1000/1 (using it for both) instead of having to buy two 500/1's may be better money wise. I'm sure i've seen an 1000/1 for around $450(used), compared to a 500/1 being around $300(used)

but then again, a 500/1 is perfect for one 12w7.
