i have a 99 jeep grand cherokee and i was wondering if anyone knew what size alternator is in my car. i was thinking sometime in the future i would have probably a 300/2 amp and a 1000/1 sub amp. is my alt. big enough for this? or would i need a new one? or could a cap. solve any problems i may run in to? thanks!

cant remember which thread, but jeeps apparently have week alternators. go to the wickedcases site, too. cap does not replace an altenator

wranglers do.
depends on the engine in the JGC.
If it's a Laredo with the 4L i6, you have a 90A denso alternator.
If this is a fully loaded Limited, with a 4.7: V8 it'd be bigger.
in any event for over 1300 watts of power you're going to want a bigger alternator.
www.mralternator.com has them for jeeps.

thanks for the help glass. i do have the limited with the V8. with this said i still looked at the site you suggested in your last post, and the alts. for grand cherokees seem to only go up to 1997 on that site. am i looking in the wrong place for them? any other input would be great, thanks!

I guess they only list for the ZJ bodies.
yours is a WJ body. contact the site directly via email and ask.
if you have no luck there, try www.4alterstart.com
