entirely depends on the sub(s)

if the subs are identical, adding a second sub with the same total power yields a gain of +3dB.
adding a second sub and doubling the power (sub as going from a 4 ohm to a 2 ohm load on the amp to double it's output) will yield about a +6dB gain in SPL.
Now, when you start looking at different subs you need to consider their sensitivity, power handling, Xmax, cone surface area, enclosure types, vehicle damping and cabin gain, transfer point, and other data that all plays into the resulting performance.
In short, you really can't just plop down two subs without the rest of the context and compare them.
