Sub-Sonic Filter

Manual says it's to stop sub harmonic frequencies from damaging your sub. My question is: After prolonged thumping-bass, my sub cuts out. It will happen after an excessive bass drop or long rolloff. It seems like the amp just cuts power to the sub - and then it resumes a second later.
Will turning off my sub-filter stop this?

It's really, really annoying. . .
Thanks.

Hey Andrew, sounds like you have an issue not related to sub sonic filter. You can try using it with the filter off. If it doesn't make any difference, then you're either maxing out on the amp or your amp's gain is not set properly.

Is your amp going into protection mode or anything? You may be over heating it, maybe not wired correctly? Can't be sure from just what you said.
The sub-sonic filter is to filter out the meaningless sub 10-20hz frequencies that can mud up your sound and use up extra power.
