No real installation forum, so I figured id post here.

Any reason not to use Cork as a sound deadener? I know its not going to stop any rattles, but thats not what im looking for it to do. Mainly looking to deaden inside of trunk, and inside of door panels, and enclosures (sub and enclosure attached to the door panel).

Probably coating it with eDead v3 or another liquid deadener. Rest would be a normal mat-type material if it rattles (trunk lid probably, and outside door cavity) , if not, more cork!

Or are the newer mats now more efficient than cork at sound deadening?

Any other negatives to Cork in car audio?
From what I know, its still used in home theatres and soundproof rooms.

don't forget that cork will hold moisture. It may not be that smart of an idea to use it for that reason. Something about moisture causing rust. and rust is n autos enemy.
