after installing everything i just have a few questions. me and my friend had a debate about this. he feels that everything on my headunit as far as bass wise should be turned way down and i should use the gain/bass boost on the amp to bring that up. i think i should leave the bass boost off and gain at half then use the head unit for bass control (at least until the subs have broken in) who is right? there are two seperate bass settings on my Alpine 9827 deck. theres a SubWoofer one ranging from 0-15 and a Bass one with 4 different freq. (60 80 100 and 200) ranging from -7 to 7. how should it be set up until the subs break in? right now i have the freq. on 60 with bass on 3. and the SubWoofer control is on 8. please lead me in the right direction here. thanks

gain shouldn't ever be sued as a volume or boost.
if you use the amp or head unit crossovers is up to you.
as for boost, I prefer to keep all of them set flat and use a pre-amp or EQ to adjust any boost at the dash.
