I have an older one, thinking about buying a new one. Every one tells me not to? What's up?

keep the older one, don't waste money on the newer stuff. soundsteam was bought by power acoustic a few years ago. PA is low-end, so you're taking chances with soundstream now.

Its not like the reference series for sure but I have a pic 880 and it runs to orion p12's fine at two ohm's stereo. I am going to try the vangogh amps out I read a review from an audophile guy that used stuff like mcintosh, and ads and other quality old school stuff. and he gave it rave reveiws. I think the vangogh is the only one worth trying though. Really good prices on ebay. The thd at .02 and damping at 500 and signal to noise ratio at 115 and a slew of other features I will try it. IF you know any thing about the above you know those are excellent numbers and should provide clean usable power. Also I think this amp was designed by an old school soundstream engineer. (don't qoute I said think).
