Kenwood 'Excellon' 10 disc -CX82 problem

Unregistered guest
After 6 years of trouble-free service; I have a problem. It attempts to play ea. of the 10 discs then displays 'no disc' message. I took it to local dealer. They 'allegedly'sent it in to Kenwood for repair. They now tell me It will cost more to fix than to buy new one. I can't help think maybe this is a scam to sell me a new one. Anyone know what the problem might be? I have tried a cleaning disc but it won't play that either. I have also reset the head unit. It is 6 yrs. old but I still expect better from KW. Excellon series.

well, when 6 years goes by there are alot of advances in audio and technology, therefor they have to use outdated technology to replace your item, at this point it may be hard to come by. A cd changer has to endure alot of abuse, figure ever bump you hit it feels and has to push itself to read though it...After 6 years of use i think you must have got your moneys worth by now, i mean hey, nothing lasts forever...
