I currently have 2 12" audiobahn subs (AW121T). It says up to 550 watts rms and 1100 ach. I am wondering how many watts on an amp should be good? And if anyone has any recommendations that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Anyone? I was looking at the "e1800D - JL Audio 800 Watt Mono Amplifier"480 W RMS x 1 @ 4 ohm. Little pricy though at almost $400. Any suggestions anyone?

That amp would work. Since those subs are 4 ohm you'd run em in parallel to get a 2 ohm load where that amp would produce 400 watts to each sub.

From what I'm hearing on these forums Audiobahn overates the power handling capabilities of its subs a bit so the discontinued JBL BP600.1(300 watts per sub @ 2ohm) might be a good budget concious choice.

It might be difficult to find a new one but there's usually at least one used 600.1 on ebay at any given time.

Here ya go

There's plenty of other choices out there. If you'd like a good deal on something new I'd recommend the dicontinued Xtant A6001.

ot the "T" model

Depends on which color you like better. I personally like the looks of the "Titanium". The regular model is a stark black and silver.

good luck :-)

How do I hook the wiring up to make them run parallell? Sorry if I am being really annoying with these dumb questions. I'm trying to learn how to do this as I go. Thanks and I appreciate the help once again.

Also, I am just wondering what the best way to hook the subs up are and what way to wire them? Bridged? Parallel? Whats the difference and how do I go about doing whichever one will make them sound best. Thanks a million.

There's a number of ways to run those subs in parallel. Since most mono amps have two sets of mono outs(already in parallel) the simplest would be to run each speaker to each of these output connectors.

[note] "bridging" only applies to multi channel amps. you can't "bridge" a monoblock which is what you would need for your application. there's not too many 2 channel amps out there stable to 1 ohm(2 ohm bridged).
