Are Phoenix Gold amplifiers recommended?

I was wondering about the qaulity and power of Phoenix Gold amplifiers. Would it be a good idea to go with a R5.0:1 mono amp for two earthquake tens rated 220 watts each?

just slightly overpowering them. but you should be ok. i believe you will have to run those subs in parallel to get them down to 2 ohm. as that amp is 2 ohm

Yes I have the DB10's 220 watts rms. Isn't this amp rated 400 watts rms at 2 ohms so wouldn't this be slightly underpowering them?

phoenix gold makes good stuff but the octane series is ok but the tantrum stuff is better also check out the mtx stuff its cheaper than the phoenix gold stuff (mtx 1501d or the mtx 81000d)

I hear that MTX are pretty good amps. Would they be comparable to the Xenon series from PG or the Kicker KX400.1? How do these three amp manufacturers compare to one another? Thanks
