I hope im posting this in the right forum but here goes.

i recently got all my electronics set up and im having a slight issue
It seems whenever i play anything that has a soft sound my speakers seem to cut out on my surround sound. but as soon as it kicks up my speakers pop and it sounds find. I also have my surround sound hooked up to my computer and youtube has major problems with this even with everything turned up full blast even though itunes works just fine.

At this point this is how my system is set up:

Computer is hooked up to an external "sound card" which is a Creative - Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 External USB Sound Card. This card is wired into my samsung 1000w hometheater system via a digital audio optical cable.

The sound always seems just a little mute on basic tv viewing and such as well unless a loud sequence in a movie or tv show begins and seems to fade in to the volume level

any other questions let me know and i will answer them as best i can

thanks for any help you guys can offer

Double check all of your speaker connections and make sure you don't have your positive and negatives crossed. If that's fine then you are going to have to take things out of the loop (PC etc) until you find the culprit.
