Hi,

I am very new to this home theater setup. My living room is wired for 7.1 speaker system (4 of them on the sealing). I would like to go for Bose speakers and Denon receiver. Could you please provide me with some links to read the pros and cons and which model to choose from? The net is flooded with lots of information, many of them misleading.

You can do a lot better than Bose. If space is an issue there are still many different brands to chose from that will give superior performance to Bose. Some of the regulars will be here to lend you a hand. First though folks need to know you budget and space constraints. Also what Denon are fou getting as some folks are likely to debate the wisdom of that choice as well.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. I have narrowed down the receiver to AVR-4306. I know there are lots of experienced guys out there to help me out with the receiver and speakers.

Thanks again,
Sun

Just a friendly suggestion before you Drop $2000.00 for a 4306 you might want to look into the Denon AVR987 which you can get at your local Circuit City
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Denon-7-1-Channel-HDMI-Receiver-AVR987/sem/rpsm/o id/159488/catOid/-12949/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
or you can opt for the Denon AVR2807
http://reviews.cnet.com/Denon_AVR_2807/4505-6466_7-31660758.html?tag=pdtl-list
which is the same as the AVR987 but has a different finish on it. They're the same receivers made with different materials. both support upconversion of analog inputs and both are half the price of the 4306. Hope that helps and good luck!
