I just hooked up my dad's Surround sound system that we've had sitting around since christmas. I've got all of the speakers working and everything I just have a few questions.

I know most TV doesnt have surround sound but how do I get it to just play through the surround sound speakers? I have it hooked up but the sound still comes through the speakers built into the TV.

I have an cable box and a DVD/VHS Player as well in this setup, the only connection from my surround sound setup is from it to the TV using a composite cable. Do I need to get another cable that goes to the VCR as well?

Also, when I want to play, say Xbox for example using my surround sound. Where do I hook up the composite cable? It's being taken up by the Surround sound.

Any help is appreciated
