whats yours ?

how about the 3 biggest super hero movies of 2008

IMHO im going to rank as

1st place - HULK part 2 ...yes others made more at the box office but i really like this movie ....great story line (like the old tv series) & fast paced action , riveting & intriguing in that i didnt want to leave my seat ....showdown in the end was awesome !

2nd- iron man ...nice & adventurous with comedy in between ...story in the 2nd half & fight in the end reminds of robocop 3 - those who seen robocop 3 will know what im talking about

3rd - dark night ....IMHO soooo damn overated ! , keith ledger : bleh ! ...i dont know what the big deal was , movie long & at times booooring ...dont really care much for it

*my ist new thread of 2009 - puts on flame suit ... .......

Well I'm a sucker for special effects and comic book style story lines so Iron man topped the charts for me this year. I've seen it about 20 times already and I've only owned it for several months. The movie wowed me like Transformers did a year ago and the kid in me keeps coming back.

I have to disagree with your take on Dark Knight Rovin. This sequel took the series where it has never gone b4. Match Heath's last and best (IMO) performance with the introduction of two face and the very surprising twist of fate for the leading lady and you have a blockbuster. It works for me. Morgan Freeman nailed his part, be it as small as it is, and I don't mind Christian Bale's rendition of Batman. With so many taking on the role in the past you can't help to wonder who's next? My fav will always be Mr. Keaton. He was the first in this series and to me everyone tries to follow his lead. Clooney had no business putting on the suit.

For the kids it has to be WALL-E this year. This was a movie, though dead at times, was something fresh and kept them entertained for at least one bag of popcorn.

well thats pretty much what every1 is saying about dark knight - its not that i dont think its not good but i cant see what so spectacular about it

i do agree with u 100% on Mr. Keaton in the 1st batman which imo remains the best & part 2 with penguin was def the most boring\dull of them all

havent seen wall E as yet

I'm a movie freak, and I've really slacked this year on seeing them all, so this is a very incomplete list, but...

#4. Quantum of Solace - Opinions seem pretty mixed on the most recent Bond installments, but I'm a FAN. Daniel Craig is flat-out badass as James Bond and just like Casino Royale, this movie is beautifully shot with a very smooth script.

#3. Forgetting Sarah Marshall - I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Jason Segel has a pretty good sense of humor... 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and now this!? Talk about a hot streak! Speaking of HOT, Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell didn't exactly ruin the film for me :-)

#2. Dark Knight - I almost don't wanna put it on my list cause I do think it was a smidge over-hyped, but who am I kidding, awesome rebound from what I thought was a slightly disappointing "Batman Begins".

#1. In Bruges - HILARIOUS dark comedy. Colin Farrell is flat out brilliant in this movie, an absolute career performance. Not for everyone, but if you like coke-snorting dwarves who believe the world is going to end in a race-war, then it's for you.

Honorable Mention:

Pineapple Express
Tropic Thunder
Wanted

Worst of the Year:

Eagle Eye
Get Smart

Not every story can be told in the same amount of time.

For those who thought Dark Knight was too long, what scenes did you feel should have been cut?

"Pineapple Express was a HUGE letdown for me. Not nearly as funny as I thought it was gonna be. "

Maybe you didn't understand the jokes in the movie. Maybe you don't have a sense of humor. Maybe it's a combination of both or maybe you're just a b1tch! Haha, what movie would you recommend that's funnier that Pineapple Express?

Funniest scene is at the end in the diner when they start reminiscing about the day's events. I tried like the dickens to find a clip to link but I fail.

Gran Torino was my favorite movie of the year. Clint Eastwood has still got it, and it shows. A brilliant movie.

Next would be The Dark Knight.

Then probably Religulous.

For what it's worth...

In the last five years, the Producers Guild of America matched four of the five eventual Academy Awards Best Picture nominees each year.

Here are their picks for 2008:

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Dark Knight
Frost/Nixon
Milk
Slumdog Millionaire
