I just arrived back from the US where i bought a COBY TFDVD7309...the problem is that this DVD player (and its a portable one) does not recognise my DVDs from the US or the ones from here. I am trying to see if theres a code for COBY Portable DVD players, but i see none on the drop down menu .....anyone able to help??

Reema,

You can usually dub from VCR to DVD recorder unless the VHS tape has copyright protection. Many commerical movies will have this copyright protection.

If these are VHS tapes that you recorded yourself, just connect LINE OUT + AUDIO OUT on VCR to LINE IN + AUDIO IN on DVD recorder.

I have a cyberhome progressive scan dvd, now it plays cds but when I put a dvd in it reads bad disc. Now it acknowledges the lens cleaner disc but no dvds. What's wrong? Please give me input. Is my machine broke?

Try a different DVD.

The laser probably died.
