Hello, I got a new Pace DC550D HD Receiver. A cogeco technician mentioned to me that there is a way to convert this receiver to a PVR using an external USB drive, and a firmware update. He wouldn't give me specific on how to do it however. Anybody know where on the net I can find instructions and files to do this? I know it is possible because when I hit the PVR button on the remote, the digital box tells me the PVR features are disabled, so I'm thinking it is just a matter of getting them enabled again. Any help would be appreciated. Google has not been much help for me on this one.

No you can't,Cogeco has remotely disabled this feature as they are greedy they want you to pay for an entire new PVR with more storage. The only way is to replace the internal drive after formatting it.
