I know Dennis complained to Paypal about Satthouse and I did twice. Besides being scammers, their "verified" Paypal advertising was very deceptive. I'm disappointed it took Paypal so long to act and that they didn't refund Dennis' money. Copied from Sathouse:
"We are now offering Stormpay as our payment processor. We are having trouble with PayPal due to the fact that they don't approve of the content on our site and they feel that we should remove their name and logo from our site."

Stopping by -- Get your facts straight! That post was made by Sledgehammer (at hashhu.com). Could it be more clear? So if you or BMD has a problem with the post, take it up with him.

Having said that, BMD (or anyone else) can visit me anyplace they want to at the time of their choosing. Don't ever threaten me. I'll leave it at that before I get myself really pi$$ed off.

Steven Chang -- What is it that you want to do?
I don't want to be sarcastic, but you log on, say "I'm a noob," set me up in business. Be specific. You want to be a dealer? You want free DTV for your home? What do you have?

Boots - I'm glad it worked for you. I wouldn't dream of trying it. If they are legitimate, they would take Paypal or a charge card. If you are worried about being traced, use a Visa gift card.

Dennis -- It's already been mailed. I hope it works out for you...for all of us.

Anonimous -- What are we talking about here? Total price of $289 for a hack!...and you say that the price is not bad? You would really send your card to someone, along with $289, with no guarantees of support, not a hint as to how long the hack will last, and think that you're getting a good deal? And all of that is ASSUMING that you'll even get your card back, let alone a card with an open program. Wow.

I'm not belittling you. I'm just so amazed that someone would pay so much to watch DTV for who-knows-for-how-long. At the risk of sounding greedy, I wish you were my client...or rather, that I had a few clients like you.

Good luck, m'man. Ken

Leslie -- You get better and better and better.

Richard -- Someone once referred to you as the Peacekeeper, correctly so. But perhaps that name should now be changed to the Biermeister!...
or is that Braumeister? Whatever. You've got me thinking....

Was having a cold one when the post came in! I have 5 kegs in my house right now and a solid brass draught tap comes right out of the front of my fridge!
Guess the "peacekeeper" in me comes from a combination of being doorman in rough bar for 4 years... as well as being Canadain!
come to think of it..that could explain the beer thing too!!

congrats to all for ignoring the boss

Question...

Just for argument sake, let's imagine that some diligent nerdy f**ker, who has nothing but time on his hands, has spent the last three months trying to crack the "next gen" of access cards (P4 or P5, but mostly P5). He's been in it just for sport, of course... he could afford the subscription, he just doesn't like the gouge-ridden pricing structure of DirecTV.

Anyway, this geek comes up with a solid work-around, and has his P5 up wide open for two weeks without a hiccup in sight. He's ecstatic (hypothetically)!!!

Now, here's the question;
How would this guy "market" his "product" if he were so inclined?
Keep in mind that he's a law-biding citizen who does not want to end up in a legal turmoil (or worse), but is conflicted by the temptation of "getting-rich-quick" and retiring from the rat race at the ripe old age of 55.

Still speaking hypothetically, what advice would be appropriate?
Does he go "offshore" and market to "wholesalers" (cash out quickly), or does he encrypt his product and sell direct, possibly programming remotely like Dynamica did with the HU, and make millions over a few months?

Just a hypothetical concept. Any ideas?

Question guys is the 745 board the same thing as a bootstrap and is it the same thing we used for the H card aftet black sunday?

John, if the hypothetical work around were still up when football season rolls around - someone would have something special. No ideas on how to market it, though. I would probably go with the "making millions over a few months" way if it were me.

Dublatime -
I never said that I did not like dAVE, in fact, I love dAVE... his product is awesome and we all want it desperately... (just read the above thread). I just don't like his greedy approach to marketing satellite television. (If he were truly intelligent, he would cut his pricing in half, and increase his market share 10-fold overnight, but his gluttonous share holders have no foresight).

Screwing" dAVE is not an option. Releasing indiscriminately to the web only serves to undermine dAVE, and without dAVE, there is no prize. Urinating on dAVE only serves to incite him and challenges him to respond (much the same as the radar detector "tit-for-tat" of the '70's). Let's be cerebral about this... only a surgical approach in metered application is destined to succeed. Just a few (thousand) eggheads on the free ride will not provoke dAVE back into the R&D labs... it's too expensive to reinvent the wheel every six months.

Please... let's THINK about this.

And here is the reason most sites don't accept credit cards or pay pal.
DIRECTV Settles Lawsuit Against PaySystems
Electronic Payment Processor No Longer Accepting Business from Sellers of Satellite Piracy Equipmen

El Segundo, CA Apr 15, 2004 DIRECTV, Inc., announced today that it recently agreed to settle a lawsuit it filed last fall against PaySystems, one of Canada's largest Internet-based payment processors, and a number of John Doe defendants, who DIRECTV claimed were processing payments for merchants selling goods marketed or designed to allow piracy of DIRECTV's satellite signal.

Although the terms of the settlement agreement remain confidential, as part of the resolution of the matter, PaySystems is subject to an injunction prohibiting it from offering any services to merchants selling goods marketed or designed to allow piracy of satellite signals in the future.

Expressing confidence that PaySystems will adhere to the court order, Chris Murphy, assistant general counsel, DIRECTV, Inc., said, "From the beginning of the matter, PaySystems has maintained that it would abide by the letter of the law, and respect any injunction issued in this case."

Murphy added that the lawsuit against PaySystems represented an expansion of DIRECTV's anti-piracy enforcement strategy and that similar actions would likely follow in the future.

"Like any other sellers of illegal products on the Internet, satellite pirate merchants depend upon third-party providers to allow them to operate effectively," he said. "This lawsuit should deter third-party providers from offering their services to people engaged in illegal satellite piracy transactions. The injunction entered in the case will reduce the overall availability of such ancillary services."

You need a Dish or expressVU reciever from EBAY, or somwhere, About $2-300 with an open card, about $150-200 without. Then you need an ISO programmer, A Jtag unit and the freeware software to program the recievers card, or A Magic Card and Programmer to use the Magic Card. Other than that Your all set. I can Supply the magic Cards, and can point you in the right direction for JTAGs, ISO programmers and Software. Hope this helps. Everyone is switching from DTV to Bell or Dish for now. Who knows in a few years you might be able to do somthing with that DTV Reciever and Access Card, Just not now or any time soon!

Also on the subject of pay pal does anybody in here remember way back in april or may of 2002 when pay pal froze and seized a lot of Canadian sites pay pal accounts (dssarmy was one but there where a lot more) because of pressure from dtv I don't remember reading how those cases came out however but any pay system based in north America and several other places will cooperate with dtv that is why so many sites are using money orders or other means of payment any site offering service with pay pal, pay system and several others are pretty stupid scammers that don't realize that their accounts will be frozen and siezed once the third party proccessors learn what they are selling (sathouse would be a good example).

Paypal will routinely freeze accounts when they get complaints. If a vendor is not delivering the product they advertise, Paypal will freeze the account until there is an investigation.

that is true but in the case of those 40 - 50 websites frozen in 2001 it was because of pressure from dtv. And I am sure that if it was brought to the attention of pay pal that an account holder was seling item aimed at stealling dtv signal thier account will be frozen I do know dtv did have a lawsuit against pay pal simmilar to the one against pay system I posted earlier today I just don't know the outcome of that lawsuit

I have been reading about WB and guys in here that have a fix for the p5 card but you must run a no 745 board with it. I have both I would like to try it anyone willing to give to test. I also have the ISO dual crytal programmer. I will be willing to test the fix.

You can use a ISO I use a dual Iso you can get the specs from simeins and write the code to set the card into debug mode which is used by the designers to debug the card and bypass the trash card mechanism but you must have proper coding and beable to reset the 2 ATR gates simultaneously and the card then loops into this mode and is almost in your hands freely you then can manipulate the vectors and the pec gates even the decrypt prom remind you this is hall hardware aspects on the actual Micro-controller. The specs give you the addresses so it makes your work pretty easy for mapping only problem i have is with the eeprom ROM bank 2 I can get the info from ROM Bank 1 but not Bank2 I dont know why yet but i will eventually figure it out. If you fail to set the card into debug mode you will set off the card trash mechanism which will result in 746 or Data corruption I have even been able too fix this so far for i did send 3 cards into the Trash Card loop before getting the code proper. all proper coding can be aquired from siemiens specs and Infineon opcodes all you have to do is look and do some searching on the net the info is there. I dont know if this is to your satisfactory or not but like you I have nothing to prove nor sale. All I have is the knowledge i have ran across and have made work. I am sure there are more than 1 way to skin a cat and I am looking at all possible angle's. With all this thread and subject has lead too I am still not gonna resort to flaming and bashing nor name calling its counter productive and the very essence why people are staying quiet..

Well now that the fight is over lets talk. I haven't had better or worse luck using or not using a no 744/745 boot board. I had great success with them own a hu card though. All of mine are p4 compatible. The ones that you are reading about are the same as the one for an hu. So if it means compatible then their will be a program to make it work own a p4. I have stuck my legal card in it and it worked fine but who's too say it was doing its job.

Ken I bought the Nexus quad Iso programmer.

Leslie anyone of these receivers will work.2700 2800 3700 3900 501 301-10 6100 6200 7100 7200. The 501 6100 6200 7100 7200 are the best you can get. I have a 2700 and it works great. The same programmer I told Ken about will also do Dish. You will need a Quad Jtag reader. It will do a variety of different model receivers. If you get a 301-13 it has to a video modification done to it. In the front of the box on the top inside. Is a sticker and it has some numbers. The 3rd number from the right as long as it is an A-I it doesn't need a video mod. But if it is J thru whatever it does.

The guy who posted about all the infected Dave sites. You named just about every site own the net. I Know for a fact that 3msprivatedss isn't busted because I speak too them all the time. Phone and email. Also Dssstuff.ca is their link, so if their still going strong so is their link.

DssToybox.com I have had support from their and nothing bad has happened to me yet. Hopefully not. But I don't trust that site now because they have done some major changes.

We need to stop the bickering and fighting and do research and try to work together to bust Dave's a$$. IF we all work together it can be accomplished.

Good Day.

Little bit of helpful but disappointing news:

June 28: We know that many of you are getting impatient, but there's little new to report. Here are the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q> Is there any way to watch free DTV at this time?

A> No. DTV has terminated the HU datastream so those cards will no longer receive a signal when placed in your receiver. At this time there is no commercially available way to read, write or program either a P4 or a P5 card to receive free programming.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q> What is the status of equipment and support for existing customers?

A> Please click here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q> I have heard of someone who has a hacked P4 card. Is this true?

A> It's possible, but very, very unlikely. There are maybe a handful of test cards that have been programmed successfully, but you would have to be sleeping with a programmer to actually have one, and even then it's probably quite buggy. There are certainly no hacked cards commercially available yet.

So watch out for those few websites that are claiming to sell programmed P4 cards. We know several people who have sent money orders and received absolutley nothing in return. When a fix of any kind becomes available we will announce it here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q> When will P4/P5 programming become available?

A> We don't know. What we know is that many, many people are working on a fix right now and all of them hope to have some form of programming available shortly. We have seen test cards that work, but the programmer has not been able to duplicate them in sizable quantities yet. Based on reports from various programmers, we hope that some kind of fix will be available by mid- to late summer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q> What kind of fix is most likely to become available first?

A> Based on currently-available information, a programmed P4 card will probably become available first. Users will buy a card that has already been programmed, put it in their receiver and receive free programming. Users should also be able to exchange an existing P4 card for a programmed card.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q> Should I buy a card right now?

A> After a huge surge in prices immediately following the death of HU cards, prices have stabilized again. Since there is a limited supply of P4 cards (DTV stopped making them over a year ago), look for base prices to surge again as soon as programmed cards become available. But even though base prices will probably be higher when programmed cards become available, it is probably best not to buy a card until that time. However, if you wish to gamble, buying a card now may save you as much as $100 later.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q> If I want to get a card now, should I get a P4 card or a P5 card?

A> Both cards could get hacked at the same time. However, since P4 cards have been available for a longer time, it is most likely that it will get hacked first. For this reason, a P4 card is a slightly better investment at this time. But also remember that DTV plans to phase out the P4 at the end of this year and a P5 upgrade will be necessary then. In other words, if you get a P4 card, you will probably get programming first, but need to upgrade again early next year; if you get a P5 card, you may have to wait longer for programming, but you will not need to upgrade next year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q> I miss my TV. What do you recommend at this time?

A> There are two viable options:

1. Get a basic subscription from DTV until a fix becomes available.

2, Switch to DishNet which can still be hacked. We are working on a new site to sell DishNet products and wil direct you to it when it is ready. There are already many sites selling DishNet products but good, user-friendly instructions and support is quite scarce.

Some newsletters have been deleted, since the reported information is now outdated.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apr 29: According to schedule, DTV has turned off the HU card datastream in its entirety.

Activation fix users are getting a "This card has expired message" while 3M users are seeing a black screen but getting sound. Obviously 3M users are still getting the benefit of the music channels.

watching dave tv -- Before you start pulling people's puds, for whatever sick reason, you should learn how to read. Most of the posters on this site already know that you're a puke, but for those few who don't, here's the deal:

The following are two copy-and-pastes from dish-loader.com. One of them tells you about their offer to pre-sell you their DTV News Software starter kit for $259, that will allow you to program up to 5 cards, but that it's still in the developmental stage. The other is an offer to program your card for $249, one card, no warranty or support. Add $40 shipping for each.

------------------The "Hack"-------------------

Description: Tired of waiting around for someone to come out with a hack? Is your wife bugging you about TV? Well if so we have the answer for you. If you have a p4 or p5 card we can program it for you at a decent price. The price we are offering this service at is not outrageous and if you were around during the days of the h and hu cards then you will understand the pricing. No one else has this ability and will not for a very long time. We can program your card with a full 3m. Yes that is right a full 3m! Not some knock off activation and what not but every channel wide open. Turn around time is usually a few days just because we have such a large amount of cards. If you are shipping your card from the U.S please roll the card in foil and put it in a birthday card thus avoiding it being seized.

Programming Price: 249.00 USD

-------------DTV News Software (pre-sale)--------

Description: This product was one of the most amazing products to ever hit the direct TV seen in years. It was the original software ever developed for loading at home. Too many knock offs came out after the first year it was in service however none could ever compete with it's abilities. It was in service for 3 years running what we called an asic 3m which was almost indestructible. Currently it is being developed in conjunction with a brand new unit capable of programming the p4s. We are the last people that would lie to you so when we say it will be available for the p4s we do mean it. If you would like to pre-order this product you may or you can wait until the unit is completely finished. The price is $259 for the start up package which includes 5 cards allowed to be programmed and our brand new unit. The price thereafter is $99 a year which includes our great service which many have come to love.

Our Price: 259.00 USD

So tell us again, pea brain, what you and your buddies got for you $300?

Ken (My server keeps going down. Can't even e-mail...let alone post)

Walter, you had said earlier that you set your PPV at $650 could you email me and let me know how to do it I have a friend that I just talked to here in my home town that works for one of DTV's contractors and he said that he will get me an activated card. He doesent know how long it will stay up before Dave cuts it but the price is right (free). Will the no745 help it to stay up or what can I do to try and protect it.
Thanks for any info

Copied and pasted from another site:

For DTV & DISH: Subscribers will get FREE PPV's

Please note: the following information is written specifically for Directv, but it's methods can be adapted to any other satellite system. As for now, there is no way it can work on cable.
There are two different methods to this article: the first is universal, and can be used on any satellite system. The second however most likely only applies to Directv. I am not sure of this however, as my knowledge only applies specifically to Directv. It very well could work on other systems too.

The Major Flaws Contained in Satellite Company's Protection of Pay Programming, Specifically Directv

March 25, 2004
Oklahoma City, Ok

Directv is a well known provider of satellite television, who's equipment and web software contains just a few flaws, but ones substantial enough to compromise the entire structure of Directv's pay-per-view and adult programmming system.

I spoke to a man recently who in the interests of anonymity prefers to be called 27. At the completion of our conversation he handed me a note, which contained the following text:

"My method for receiving pay-per-view for free, part one:"

"All Directv boxes use a card in the back of the system, and this is the vital component for receiving programming. When a program is ordered, a signal is sent to the box, and the box then records this signal to the card. If, for example, you want to watch "In the Bedroom" starring Sissy Spacek, then you can either order this by using the internet, calling Directv, or ordering with your remote. Using the first two methods, a signal will be sent from a satellite in outerspace to your satellite on your house, and the signal will be passed through the cable to your settop box or boxes, and the box then records the information received to the access card. Using the latter method, ordering by remote, no signal is sent from an orbiting satellite; rather, the remote authorizes the settop box to write the information to the card. Directv would like their customers to have your settop box connected to a telephone line so that the box can send the information about purchases to Directv and they can charge them accordingly."

"Therefore, step one is to disconnect the box from the phone line. Directv would like for their customers to believe that having it connected to the phoneline benefits them, however all it does is tattle."

"Now that we've established how the system works, let's examine the flaws."

"The first major flaw is in the card. The most effective way to exploit this is through the internet, by going to www.directv.com and setting up an account, which enables customers to pay their bill, change their programming package, and order pay per view movies and events. However, it can also be exploited by calling in the pay-per-view order, although this generally carries a fee. This fee will be waived if it is indicated that there was some sort of technical difficulty in ordering the movie or event. I don't believe that it can be exploited through the method of using the remote because of the box's delayed reaction in sending the pay per view information to Directv."

"I will tell about how the flaw can be exploited by using the internet since this way is the easiest and the quickest. The first method I'll tell of is only for ordering pay-per-view purchases a day or more in advance if the purchase is an all day ticket program. If it only plays once that day, then this method will work if the movie or event is ordered before it begans."

"First, a customer orders the movie or event by going to the program guide. The process is followed until it indicates that the purchase has been completed. At this point, the customer goes to his or her set top box, and removes the access card from the back where the program has been recorded by a signal from the outerspace satellite(this is done instantaneously upon your purchase). They then go back to the computer, click on the link which says "current pay per view purchases", and they cancel the program which removes the charge instantly from their account. A signal is once again sent from outerspace, except this time it's to erase the program from the card. What happens when the box tries to erase it from the card? It can't, because the card isn't in there. So the customer, after having completed this step, then goes back to the receiver and replaces the card. The next day, the customer watches the prgram they've selected, and all Directv knows is that the program was ordered and then canceled."

"Things which could go wrong:"

"Directv consistently sends out a signal to your receiver at random times, usually about once every 30 hours or so, but sometimes, although it's infrequent, the signal can get sent up to twice in one day. What does this signal do? It simply resets your card with the information Directv has on file about the account, which means that all unauthorized programs will be erased and only authorized programs kept."

"Here is one VERY IMPORTANT point: NO INFORMATION CAN BE SENT BACK FROM THE SATELLITE SYSTEM TO THEM. It takes a special satellite system for this to be possible, such as a Directway satellite internet system, otherwise the satellite is only capable of receiving signals. It cannot send them, it cannot tell them anything about what is watched, which is why Directv requests that the box be connected to a phone line, so the box can send information about you. This is in contrast to cable television services, which is capable of both sending and receiving signals."

"Also: It is not illegal for a customer to order and cancel movies as they please. I've tested this method for over three years and have continued my existence as a standard, valued Directv employee. This may be viewed as strange behavior, to consistently order and cancel so many programs, but it's not illegal or against the terms of conditions to be a strange person. So what, the customer likes to order and cancel programs, maybe they have a mental disorder which compels them to do this. Who knows? Nobody."

"Now, there is also one more major flaw in the system, only this one allows you to cancel all day ticket programs the same day in which they're ordered, whereas it ordinarily requires action by a Directv agent in order to do this."

"The customer must have internet access for this exploit also, and an online Directv account. This one is a bit more complicated then the last one."

"Step #1: The all day ticket movie or event is ordered, either online or on the phone(online is much easier)."

"Step #2: A second movie is ordered, except this movie must NOT be an all day ticket program. It can be one that starts the next day, or that starts in an hour. If it's one that has already began, then this exploit cannot be taken advantage of."

"Step #3: The user then removes their access card from the back of their settop box."

"Step #4: The user returns to the computer, making sure they're still on the current pay-per-view page, and begins the process to cancel the 2nd movie ordered. However, the customer doesn't cancel it, because they just need the webpage which has the cancellation option on it(the webpage should say something like "You can only cancel an all day movie ticket program if it has not yet begun, are you sure you want to cancel this program?")."

"Step#5: The customer clicks on new window in his or her browser, so that he has two webpages now in front of him, both asking if he wants to cancel."

"Step #6: The customer then clicks the back button on one of those cancellation pages, so that he's back at the current pay per view page."

"Step #7: The customer clicks on the first movie he ordered, the all day ticket movie that he could not previously cancel."

"Step #8: The page that comes up will tell him that he can't cancel the movie . . . oooh, denied, right? Wrong. He goes back to the other cancellation page that he had up, and pushes the confirm cancellation button. The all day ticket is then canceled, because Directv's webserver has become confused, since the last movie that the customer tried to cancel was the one he couldn't, but yet the server is still being told it has to cancel a movie. It cancels the only movie it knows you might want to cancel, the all day ticket movie."

"Step #9: The customer returns to the second movie he ordered, and cancels that without a problem, since it had not already began."

"Bear in mind the overall function of this method, and it becomes much less complicated: to receive an equal amount of cancellation pages as movies or events you wish to cancel. This is obtained by ordering a movie which has a cancellation page, and pushing 'new window' as many times as it takes to obtain the number of cancellation pages needed."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

27 handed the previous note to me with a wink and smile. Through the course of our conversation I found out that he had tried calling Directv, tried giving them the information he'd discovered so they could fix it. He was simply given their fraud number so that he could report people he knew who were utilizing these flaws. It appears obvious that Directv is not interested in fixing this, and why should they be? If you're a paying customer, you're already giving them around 50 bucks or more a month for a signal that's broadcast to everyone anyways; only certain people are allowed to receive the signals.

I have written this only to illustrate the lax measures which is employed by Directv in using this access card based technology. From my understanding, there are also many other satellite companies, who use the same technology. It's remarkable how poorly these companies protect their pay programming.

Richard I didn't say it wasn't a good investment just that without a proper flash or cam id program to load it to the boot board it may or may not work own a p4. But own mine I put a legal card in it and it worked. Accept for that I had to stick it in two or three times for the picture to come back up but after that it stayed up.

I do believe that it will work well for the p4 once everything is up and running correctly.
My hu worked awesome with one and then if you kept up with things they started coming out with No 745 3ms and the no 745 activations where you had to order a movie as soon as you got a picture.

So only time will tell.

Leslie in Dsshelper.com down at the bottom. Their is a link. In their is a pvr 501 receiver and some extras. The box is already programmed and all you have to do is hook it up and watch tv. I forget what all it comes with but it has a sweet deal. If I didn't already have one that is what I would buy. Also that is one of those boxes that has the microsoft technology I was talking about. Those suckers are the way to go. PVR Paus Video Record. Or also known as TIVO. Check it out.

Not flaming you or anything. Just curious as it may prove dss-exe as a fraud if indeed someone else actually wrote this before him.
